The Costa Maresme
The foremost part of the Costa Daurada, extending from the Rio Tordera to Barcelona, is called Maresme and it is reputed as the great market garden of the Mediterranean
with its abundant production of fruits and vegetables arriving fresh to
the markets of the Catalan capital. It is very easy to see from where
the Costa Daurada (golden) takes its name. There you will not find
steep rocky beaches but wide beaches of fine and golden sand under a predominantly blue sky, constantly cleared by the winter and summer winds. The shallow and clear seawater makes this coastline an ultimate destination for Barcelonans and foreign vacationers alike.

Pineda de Mar is a small tourist resort of the Costa Brava, located on the Costa Maresme, north of Barcelona. It is characterized by its long beach that links it to Calella. Pineda de Mar offers for its visiting youngsters and families various nightspots, restaurants, nightclubs, sports activities and many other attractions.
Lloret de Mar
Undoubtedly the most famous resort of Costa Brava, Lloret de Mar is an ancient place characterized by its particular history and lifestyle. The central white narrow streets of this townhave been turned into markets offering just about everything to their visitors. The nightlife is highly animated thanks to the presence of numerous nightspots for all tastes and preferences. Its one-kilometre-long beach is unique thanks to the natural phenomenon of periodic sand-shifting that cleans and renews it daily.
Calella
Calella is spread along a vast, clean and golden beach. It is an ideal town
from which you can tour the most interesting resort towns of Catalonia.
The importance of this village is embodied by the multiple cultural, folkloric and sports events held there. It is not a mere coincidence that Calella is known as the tourist capital of the Costa Maresme. Thanks
to its excellent position, almost 30 kilometres away from Barcelona (an
electric train commutes between Malgrat de Mar and Barcelona each 15
minutes) Calella also provides an ideal setting for winter stays.
